D., is my hero, also US Navy vet (me too) but dr. grace invented COBOL, my first language, on punch cards (DO NOT FOLD, SPINDLE, MUTILATE). IN 1964 at bsu.edu i learned enough code to prgram an IBM Mainframe for a salary payroll for a small company. We probably had about 64K ram. (David Lettermans) is an alum also and bsu.edu is still great with tech. she was a little before my time but i think in 1946 found a moth in the computer she built and duly noted "a bug inside" the machine was the problem not the code. Women are great with math and computers, i have found, as they are emerging goddesses in all the sciences. they seem to 'git er done' with (G)grace Grace Hooper, Ph.
